| The EP8548A
and EP8641A
are Processor AMC modules that feature highly
integrated System-on-Chip (SoC) designs from
Freescale that help to improve system performance,
simplify board design, and lower system power
consumption. The EP8548A features the MPC8548E
PowerQUICC III processor built on Power Architecture
technology, while the EP8641A features the
dual-core MPC8641D processor built on Power
Architecture technology and including Freescale's
AltiVec engine. Both boards are compliant
with the AMC.4 (Serial RapidIO to AMC channels
4-7) and AMC.2 (Gigabit Ethernet AMC channels
0 and 1) specification for Serial RapidIO
and Gigabit Ethernet fabric interfaces and
include two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and
a serial port on the front panel. They can
be used in standards compliant ATCA carriers
and MicroTCA chassis as well as in a standalone
mode for rapid software development.
The EP8122A
and EP8144A
are DSP Farm cards featuring multiple high-performance
MSC81xx DSPs from Freescale. The EP8122A
features eight MSC8122 quad-core DSPs with
a Gigabit Ethernet port to AMC channel 0.
The EP8144A features six of the recently
announced MSC8144 quad-core DSPs and is
compliant with AMC.4 (Serial RapidIO to
AMC channels 4-7) and AMC.2 (Gigabit Ethernet
to AMC channels 0 and 1) specifications.
In addition to the standard interfaces,
both boards feature a complete CT-Bus on
the extended region of the AMC connector
for routing TDM data. The modules are ideal
for next-generation wireline and wireless
network infrastructure of voice, video and
3G IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) processing
applications.
The EP568T
is an AMC.4 compliant ATCA carrier board
that supports four single-width AMCs. The
EP568T is designed to deliver highly reliable
and deterministic services for any AMC.4
compliant AMC including processor, DSP farm,
and WAN/LAN I/O AMCs. The fabric interface
for each of the AMC slots complies with
the AMC.4 and AMC.2 specifications for the
common options region and fat pipes region.
The AMC slots support either a single x4
or 4 x1 Serial RapidIO connections on AMC
ports 4 - 7. In addition, all of the AMC
slots support Gigabit Ethernet connections
on AMC ports 0 and 1 (AMC.1 Type E2).
